									<p>We are going to focus on multi-muscle exercises to get the biggest metabolic effect, aka “fat burn,” and alternate exercises between your upper and lower body.</p><p>We will start with 3 sets of each exercise. You’ll perform 10-15 repetitions per set with each exercise.</p><p>If you need a refresher on reps and sets watch this <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPaJ4L6uS2I">video</a>.</p><p><strong>Note:</strong> If you’re a true beginner and the only squat you have done lately is picking something up off the ground, change 3 sets to 2 sets for the first 2 weeks.</p><p>It will look like this:</p><p><strong>Week 1:</strong> 3 sets of 10 repetitions</p><p>This is the learning new exercises phase. Do your best to figure out what the right weights are for you. They should be challenging but not too difficult where it’s hard to get the weight into the starting position.</p><p>There are detailed exercise videos showing you how to do them properly on our <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9rYOAoCGonrZpdWxSl6oUQ">YouTube Page</a>.</p><p><strong>Week 2:</strong> 3 sets of 10 repetitions</p><p>This looks like the same as last week but now you can increase intensity because you feel more confident with the weights. Add a tad bit more weight if you feel really confident.</p><p><strong>Week 3:</strong> 3 sets of 12 repetitions</p><p>Use the same weight as last week. We are slowly increasing reps. This will increase the difficulty plenty. Feel the discomfort and fight through it!</p><p><strong>Week 4:</strong> 3 sets of 15 repetitions<br /><strong>Week 5:</strong> 4 sets of 12 repetitions<br /><strong>Week 6:</strong> 5 sets of 10 repetitions</p><p>Week 4 through 6 will be continuing to drive more reps into the mix and adding in sets to mitigate some of the intensity but still be challenging enough to drive weight loss.</p>								</div>

									<p>I’m going to outline two days of workouts below. That means you can use this program twice a week or as much as four days a week.</p><p>Take a day off in-between day 1 and 2 if you can. If you choose to work out four days a week try two days on, one day off, two days back on. For example, work out Monday and Tuesday, take a break Wednesday, then work out Thursday and Friday.</p><p>We recommend pushing it harder if you want the fast results. This means you should add 20-60 minutes of cardio on your “off-days” aka non-weight lifting days.</p><p>Make sure you try our “D1” exercises to give you more ideas and check cardio off.</p><p>If you’re just getting back into the swing of things don’t try to go for the full 20 minutes. Work your way up!</p><p>Now, you’re probably wondering what you should expect after starting this workout. You should start feeling different already by week one. Then you’re left with nothing to show for all your hard work.</p><p class="p1">I have a solution for you. It has worked 100% of the time when I use this with my clients.</p><p class="p1">Not many things in life are a sure thing. Take advantage of this skill and practice it.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Lift Life Fitness</strong> strongly dislikes drastic changes because they rarely work and overwhelm us faster than you can say, “Snickel-fritz.”</p><p>So how do we make changes?</p><p class="p1">Habit formation. It takes anywhere between two weeks and one month to form a habit depending on what study you read.</p><p class="p1">In my own experience, it always depends. Two weeks is a great place to start though.</p><p class="p1">This is why our coaches check in with all of our clients every two weeks here at Lift Life. Dig deeper!</p><p class="p1"><em>“In the New Year I’m going to the gym 5 miles away on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.”</em></p><p class="p1">Good enough now?</p><p class="p1">Nope, not enough.</p><p class="p1">Write something more like this: “I’m going to the gym 5 miles away on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6pm and working out for ten minutes.”</p><p class="p1">Now you designated the time, place, action—and you wrote it out.</p><p class="p1">Now you’re getting somewhere! But don’t forget—the more detailed your goal is, the better. Set yourself up to succeed.</p>								</div>

This is a self-check system that works miracles.</p><p class="p1">When you’re planning out your new habit you have to ask yourself, “On a scale of 1-10, how confident do I feel that I can achieve this habit?”</p><p class="p1">If you are anything less than a 9 or 10, you have to go back to step two and make the habit so easily achievable that you are 10/10 confident.</p><p class="p1">This step is the most important because it sets you up for success.</p>								</div>

Tony Robbins, who’s worth millions and has coached tens of thousands of people, says, “Don’t worry about your how, focus on your why.“ The “how” is the steps you take, the program you follow, the weights you lift, and the food you eat. I would say those are pretty important, right? Well, they are, but your why is even more important. A personal exercise trainer should be well-versed in the coaching aspects of training, but unfortunately, not all are.</p><p>Surprisingly, coaching and most other intricacies of personal training are usually not a core part of any certifications. That’s why I wrote this article. I want to give you the power of investigative questioning. This gives you the power to re-align your life and push you through any barrier currently holding you back.</p><p>In this article, I’ll show you a way to ask yourself quality questions to help you reach your goals without a coach.</p><p>But first you must adhere to a core principle of coaching: the questions we ask ourselves generate the results we get.</p><p>This means we want to ask questions that dig down to the roots of ourselves. However, not any question will do. We want to utilize investigative questioning.</p><p>This is a personal exercise tool professional coaches are trained to use. You’ll learn enough in this article to start using it on yourself and see great progress.</p><p>Let’s dive into a short conversation I had recently with a client. 									<p>Each question is strategic in nature. Try to read the questions aloud and pay attention to your first reaction. Training this type of awareness is critical to see better results in yourself.</p><p>Remember, the question is primarily used to unfold layers of hidden motives, feelings, and emotions through the questioning process. This is a team effort and the client and I already had a deep sense of trust, compassion, and partnership together.</p><p>Coach: “Why do you want to lose weight?”<br /><em>Client:</em> “I want to look good.”</p><p>Coach: “Why do you want to look good?”<br /><em>Client:</em> “I want to feel better about myself.”</p><p>Coach: “If you feel better about yourself what will that do for you?”<br /><em>Client:</em> “It will transform other areas of my life. I will be more confident and courageous. I’ll have control over my life again.”</p><p>Coach: “You feel out of control when you’re not in shape?”<br /><em>Client:</em> “Unfortunately, yes. I know that’s probably not a healthy way to think, but it’s how I feel.”</p><p>Coach: “Thank you for sharing that with me. It’s perfectly normal to have these thoughts and you’re not alone in having them. You’d be surprised at how many other people think the exact same thing. I propose we work on losing weight while we keep the conversation open about finding more control in your life. Are you open to this?”<br /><em>Client:</em> “Yes, I think I can do that. 									<p>In this short conversation we unveiled a fear of losing more control and we were able to identify it as a limiting factor to weight loss. What started out as wanting to look good ended up somewhere entirely different.</p><p>Sometimes, when we focus on what we don’t have enough of, inevitably we lose more of it. In this case, the client had lost control over many aspects of their life. This led to controlling food in an unhealthy way to sustain a feeling of control in their life.</p><p>If we had stopped the conversation at “I want to lose weight because I want to look good,” we would have never found the client’s true motive for wanting to lose weight.</p><p>Without the true motive it’s hard to dig in deep when the going gets tough because the “<em>Why am I doing this</em>” is very shallow.</p><p>Now we know with this client the “why” behind losing weight is to gain more control of their life in general and form a new relationship with food.</p>								</div>
